Womans Days food coverage is aimed at busy, value-conscious woman who enjoy eating well. The magazines goal is to educate readers about cooking techniques and ingredients in a time-effective and cost-conscious way so that they can get dinner on the table efficiently, healthfully, and happily. (The recipes even include helpful cost-per-serving info!)
Kate Merker has been the Food & Nutrition Director of Womans Day since August 2010. Merker has been professionally immersed in the food industry for over ten years, but grew up in the kitchen (her grandparents owned a restaurant in Queens, NY). She graduated first in her class at the Culinary Institute of America, and then worked as a line cook at Bayards, a classic French restaurant in lower Manhattan, and New York Citys famous Gotham Bar and Grill. She has also produced food segments for television.
